HONEY

 

 

Slovenia is a home of Slovene gray bee.

The country has four beekeepers per 1000 inhabitants, which means that the Slovenians are truly a nation of beekeepers. moore...

A number of farmers own bees and produce prime quality honey. To produce it, they only use ancient natural procedures learnt by their fathers, where all is done by hand. Most common types are: acacia honey, chesnut honey from the chesnut tree forests arround Pedrovo village, meadow flower's honey... The farmers sell it only at the local farm markets or directly from the farmhouses.

If you come in autumn Tjasa can arrange for you to go grape harvesting!

You can go to help the farmer and his family for half a day or a day. You will be invited to have lunch or dinner at the table with the family after the work is done.
